Shipping & Delivery Policy
Thank you for supporting our hives! We take great care in packaging our raw honey and handcrafted beeswax candles to ensure they arrive safely at your door.
1. General Provisions
This Shipping and Delivery Policy (the "Policy") governs the shipment and delivery of any items purchased from Cambridgeshire Honey Company Limited ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"). By placing an order through our website, you (the "Customer") agree to be bound by the terms conditions set forth herein.
2. Processing and Lead Times
-
-
Standard Orders: We aim to process and dispatch orders within 1-2 business days.
-
Peak Seasons: During busy periods (such as Christmas) processing may take up to 5 business days.
-
Orders are not processed or shipped on weekends or Bank Holidays.
-
3. Shipping Rates and Estimates
Shipping charges for your order will be calculated and displayed at checkout. We utilise third-party carriers (e.g., Royal Mail, DPD, EVRi et al) to facilitate delivery.
-
We currently ship only to Mainland United Kingdom, excluding Highlands and Islands.
4. Tracking Your Order
Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a Shipping Confirmation email containing your tracking number. The tracking link will become active within 24 hours
5. Product-Specific Handling
Given the nature of our products, the following specific conditions apply:
-
Temperature Sensitivity (Beeswax): Beeswax has a relatively low melting point. During summer months the Company recommends expedited shipping. The Company is not responsible for products that suffer structural deformation due to heat exposure during transit if standard shipping is selected.
-
Fragility (Glassware): Jars of honey are heavy and fragile. Our shipping rates reflect the specialised protective packaging required to ensure your jars arrive unbroken. Honey jars are secured with protective buffering. Notwithstanding our efforts, the Customer acknowledges the inherent risk of breakage during transit.
6. Title and Risk of Loss
All products purchased from the Company are made pursuant to a shipment contract. This means that the risk of loss and title for such items pass to the Customer upon our delivery of the goods to the carrier. The Company is not responsible for:
-
Items lost or stolen after a "Delivered" status is confirmed by the carrier.
-
Delays caused by carrier service disruptions or inclement weather.
7. Incorrect Shipping Information
Please ensure your delivery address is correct at checkout. The Customer is solely responsible for ensuring the accuracy of the shipping address provided.
If a shipment is returned to the Company due to an incorrect or incomplete address provided by the Customer, the Customer shall be responsible for all additional shipping costs incurred for re-delivery.
8. Damaged or Defective Goods
We take every precaution to secure our glass jars and candles. However, if your order arrives in a damaged state, please follow these steps to initiate a claim:
-
Retain all packaging materials and the damaged goods.
-
Contact us at simon@cambridgeshirehoneycompany.com within 48 hours of delivery.
-
Include your order number and clear photos of the damaged item and the packaging.
-
We will arrange for a replacement or a full refund for the damaged goods.
-
Note: Crystallisation of honey is a natural process and does not constitute a product defect.
-
9. Returns (Perishable Goods)
Under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations:
-
Honey: As a food product, honey is exempt from the standard 14-day right to return for hygiene and safety reasons. Once the tamper-evident seal is broken, the product cannot be returned unless it is faulty
-
Beeswax Candles: You have 14 days from the date of delivery to change your mind and return unused candles in their original packaging. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.
10. Force Majeure
The Company shall not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligations if such delay or failure results from events beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to acts of God, war, strikes, labour disputes, or government-imposed restrictions on apiary movements.
