Customers must follow the safety instructions provided with our beeswax candles, which is reproduced here:
Candle Care & Safety Information
By purchasing our handcrafted beeswax candles, you agree to operate them in accordance with the following safety protocols. As these are non-container candles, they require specific handling to ensure a safe and clean burn.
• The Mandatory Surface: These candles must be burned on a level, non-combustible candle plate or holder. Never burn a pillar or taper candle directly on furniture as beeswax burns at a high temperature and may cause thermal damage or wax runoff.
• Wick Management: Maintain a wick length of 5mm at all times. If the flame becomes too high or begins to smoke, extinguish the candle and trim the wick before relighting.
• Environmental Factors: Keep away from drafts (windows, fans, air conditioning). Drafts can cause the "walls" of a beeswax pillar to breach, resulting in wax leaking onto your surfaces.
• The "Hug" Method: To get the most out of your pillar, gently "hug" (press) the warm top edges of the wax inward toward the melt pool during or after burning.
• Termination of Use: For your safety, extinguish the candle when 20mm of wax remains. Do not allow the flame to reach the holder or the base of the candle.
• Legal Disclaimer: To the extent permitted by the laws of England and Wales, Cambridgeshire Honey Company Limited shall not be held liable for any property damage, injury, or loss resulting from a failure to follow these instructions, particularly the use of an unsuitable holder or unattended burning.
